Harajiri falls (Japan’s Top 100 Waterfalls) is a symbol of the roadside station.
There are many local specialties such as rice- ramen and Kabosu soft serve ice cream. “Tulip Fiesta” is held every April with 100 different species of 400,000 tulips from around the Harajiri falls.“Ogatasanjya Kawakoshi Fiesta” is held in winter when portable shrines are carried about the streets through Torii gates to the shrine. This fiesta is based on Ogata Saburo Koreyoshi, a busho (military commander) of the Genpei period, and attracts a large audience every winter.
